Lip Augmentation

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is a procedure that addresses deficiencies in lip volume through the use of pre-made hyaluronic acid injections. This highly personalized treatment is a collaborative decision-making process between the doctor and the patient, determining the precise amount of filler required, its longevity, and the specific treatment area. It’s important to emphasize that lips should not be considered in isolation; the assessment encompasses the corners of the mouth, the lines above the lips (often known as smoker’s lines), lip mucosa moisture levels, nasolabial folds (the lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth), and marionette lines (the lines extending from the corners of the mouth to the chin). Depending on individual needs, additional procedures may be recommended. The selection of filler can be tailored to suit the desired longevity.

The Procedure

Topical anesthetics are applied approximately 15-20 minutes before the procedure. If necessary, nerve blocks can be utilized to facilitate local anesthesia. Microinjection techniques are employed to administer the necessary dosages based on the individual's requirements. It is noteworthy that many of the commonly used filler materials contain local anesthetics, effectively minimizing discomfort during and after the procedure. The procedure typically lasts between 10-20 minutes.

Post-Procedure

Following the procedure, some degree of swelling, redness, and bruising may be observed in the lip area. Cold therapy is typically administered in the early stages of treatment within our clinic. It is advisable to refrain from eating or drinking for 1-2 hours immediately after the procedure. Optimal results are usually evident within approximately 1 week to 10 days after the treatment. The possibility of repeating this procedure is viable based on individual needs and preferences.
