Hip Augmentation

Hip Augmentation

Hip augmentation is a surgical procedure designed to enhance the size and shape of the hips using prosthetic implants, fat injections, or a combination of both techniques. This procedure is suitable for individuals who are dissatisfied with their hip size, seek improved shape and symmetry, and have realistic expectations.

Hip Augmentation with Fat Injection

Hip augmentation through fat injections aims to increase hip volume and achieve a firmer and rounder appearance.

The Surgery

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes around 1-2 hours. Unwanted fat is extracted from various areas of the body through liposuction. This fat is specially processed and then injected into the hip area. The procedure is conducted through small incisions, usually measuring about 0.5-1 cm, utilizing cannulas. Special dressings are applied at the conclusion of the surgery, and patients are advised to wear supportive corsets.

Postoperative Phase

Diet can typically resume shortly after the procedure. Patients are required to wear a special corset for approximately 2-3 weeks. Bathing is allowed three days after the surgery. During the initial days, it is recommended to sleep on the back or the side. Extended periods of sitting should be avoided, particularly for the first 1-2 weeks. Patients can usually return to work within 1-2 weeks, engage in light physical activities after 3-4 weeks, and resume intensive exercises after 6-8 weeks. Bruising and swelling may occur in the hip area but typically subside within 2-3 weeks. Full recovery generally takes 6 months to 1 year, and this timeline may vary depending on additional procedures performed as part of hip aesthetic surgery.

Hip Augmentation with Implants

Aesthetic hip augmentation with implants is intended for patients who are dissatisfied with their hip size. The procedure aims to increase hip size and enhance hip shape using specially designed implants.

The Surgery

The surgery is conducted under general anesthesia and typically takes about 1-2 hours. An incision is made between the hips to ensure a natural appearance. The implants are placed within a pocket beneath the major gluteus maximus muscle, similar to breast augmentation. However, the implants used are more densely structured and, due to their position beneath the muscle, are not palpable.

Postoperative Phase

Patients can typically resume their regular diet shortly after the procedure. A special corset must be worn for approximately 2-3 weeks. Drains are inserted and are typically removed within 3-5 days. Bathing is permitted two days after drain removal. During the initial days following surgery, it is recommended to sleep on the back or the side. Extended periods of sitting should be avoided, particularly for about 1 week. Patients can generally return to work within 1-2 weeks, engage in light physical activities after 3-4 weeks, and resume intensive exercises after 6-8 weeks. Bruising and swelling may occur in the hip area but typically subside within 2-3 weeks. Full recovery generally takes 6 months to 1 year, and this timeline may vary depending on additional procedures performed as part of hip aesthetic surgery.
