Ear Correction Surgery
Surgeries to correct dissatisfaction with the shape and size of the ears, such as pinning back protruding ears, ear reduction, and aesthetic reshaping of the earlobe, are commonly performed. Protruding ears are often due to an excessive angle between the ear and the head, as well as insufficient development of the upper ear fold. This is an aesthetic issue that should be operated on during the preschool or childhood phase to prevent the child from being teased during school and developing self-confidence issues. The procedure can be performed unilaterally or bilaterally.
